2023 Display
Our chosen charity for 2023 was the Isle of Wight Search & Rescue (WightSAR)
WightSAR provides skilled volunteers to assist Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary and other agencies in searches for vulnerable missing persons on the Isle of Wight.
WightSAR relies on donations from the public and support from sponsors to fund their team.
For the 2 years before 2023, we have chosen to support local charities, and we have kept with that frame of mine when choosing to support the Island’s volunteer search and rescue team.
You can find out more about WightSAR here.
£1,250 raised for Isle of Wight Search and Rescue in 2023.
We also came third place in the Isle of Wight’s Light up the Wight Christmas Light Competition for the second year!
Bannock Road Christmas Lights are over the moon to announce that we came third in the Light up the Wight competition 2022, two years in a row!
Thank you to everyone who came and supported us throughout December last year, and we hope to see you all again later in the year.
We only ever entered the competition when it first started, to be included on the popular Christmas Light Tour Guide map to get our display out there, and what a success that has been. And to be awarded 3rd place this year, the second time winning something, it truly means a lot to us.
Congratulations to Goldcrest Close for coming 1st and Wellesley Way for coming 2nd!
In case you missed it, we raised a fantastic sum of £1250 thanks to your donations, sent to an Isle of Wight organisation, Isle of Wight Search and Rescue
